Privacy Statement of the Eindhoven Chess Club

1. Introduction

The Eindhoven Chess Club (the “Club“) is the administrator of the website www.eindhovenseschaakvereniging.nl. This page describes how the Club collects personal data and how that data is used. The party responsible for processing is the Club.

The Club is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and visitors to its website. Personal data of members and visitors is processed and secured with the utmost care. The Club complies with legislation and regulations in the field of personal data protection, including the Personal Data Protection Act and — with effect from 25 May 2018 — the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

General data relating to visits to the Club’s website is collected without identifying the visitors. This data also includes the visitor’s IP address. The IP address is not linked to the visitor’s identifiable data unless explicit consent has been obtained for this purpose.

Personal data is collected by the Club for the purposes listed below. This data is made available to the Club because you have entered it yourself on the relevant Club form, or have otherwise made it known. This data generally concerns your identity and contact details (such as your email address and name and address details).

The Club processes your personal data for the following purposes:

• pursuing the Club’s objectives, including but not limited to

1. to contact you;
2. to send you information;
3. organising chess competitions;
4. recording results and standings;
5. facilitating and promoting participation in chess competitions.

• maintaining a membership administration;
• calculating, recording and collecting membership fees and/or entry fees;
• complying with legal obligations.

4. To whom is personal data disclosed?

Your personal data is disclosed to or shared with the regional umbrella federation (“NBSB“) and the national federation (“KNSB“).
In addition, the Club provides match results to the KNSB for rating processing purposes.

If you no longer wish to receive emails regarding the Club’s activities and news, you can use the unsubscribe option included in every email sent by the Club.

No commercial use

The Club will not sell, rent, distribute or otherwise make your personal data commercially available to third parties without your prior consent.

Accuracy of personal data provided

By providing your personal data, you guarantee that it is correct and complete. In the event of false identities, incomplete or incorrect data being provided, the Club may temporarily or permanently deny you access to the website or parts thereof.

Retention of personal data

The Club does not retain personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data is processed, and in any case for as long as specific regulations require.

The Club at all times takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing.

The Club’s website may contain links and/or advertisements to websites of other organisations. The Club is not responsible for the use of your personal data by those other organisations. The Club recommends that you consult the privacy policy of the relevant organisations.

Advertisements on the Club’s website may use cookies. These cookies are created by the organisations responsible for the advertisements. The Club is not responsible or liable for these cookies.

You have the right to access your personal data, the right to request correction, restriction or deletion of your personal data, and you may also request the transfer of your data. Finally, you may object to the use of your data.

If the processing of your data is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

You may send your requests and/or questions regarding privacy-related matters to the Club’s secretariat. You will receive a response as soon as possible.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint about the use of your data with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
