The Eindhoven Chess Club (also known as ESV or simply Eindhoven) is a broad association that has something to offer to everyone. Various competitions are played on club nights, varying in the pace of play. The club championship is played at a classical pace in 25 rounds. We also play an Accelerated and Rapid comptetion, organize training sessions and we end the year with the battle for the blitz chess championship.

Several teams participate in the KNSB and NBSB (Brabant) competitions. In the KNSB the first team plays in the 2nd class KNSB. The second team plays 4th class, the third and fourth teams play in the 5th class.

We pay special attention to newby club players. Many people enjoy playing chess among friends or on the Internet. An introduction to club chess often turns out to be a big step. For this group we offer a separate program with a lot of guidance. The group has its own competition, where experienced club players are available to discuss games, and there is a separate training program. In consultation with the coordinator of this group, the transition to the “regular” competitions is prepared.

For the youth there is a separate club evening, also on Mondays, see the youth page for more information. Youth who are ready for it can join the club competitions for adults. A possibility which is widely used.

Over the years there is also a nice collection of chess books available in the library with almost 400 books!

If you would like to get to know our friendly club and play a game with us, you are always welcome! Come along to the club evening (Monday evening from 19.45) and enjoy the beautiful game.
